Applications are invited from SC, ST, OBC-NCL (including PwD* candidates belonging to these categories) under Special Recruitment Drive from Indian Nationals for the posts of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor for the following Departments:

The Institute follows the reservation policy, as applicable. Necessary supporting certificates must be enclosed with the application form to claim the benefit of reservation. Instructions from GoI/MoE issued till the date of interview will be applicable. Women and PwD* applicants are encouraged to apply.
Three posts out of 82 posts are reserved for the PwD* candidates. However, all the 82 posts are suitable for PwD* candidates.
PWD*: – blindness and low vision, deaf and hard of hearing, locomotor disability including leprosy cured, dwarfism, and acid attack victims
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, PAY AND OTHER INFORMATION
Minimum required Qualification and Experience for the posts are given below:
Cut-off date for reckoning the qualification, experience, age etc. will be the closing date of advertisement i.e 31.01.2025. However, for the position of Assistant Professor, experience gained upto the date of interview may be considered for deciding the pay and nature of employment (Contract/Regular).
QUALIFICATION & AGE: IIT Dhanbad Recruitment 2024: Faculty positions
Ph.D. with first class or equivalent (in terms of grades, etc.) at the preceding degree in appropriate branch, with a very good academic record throughout. Candidate should have good CPI/ CGPA/ Percentage in Ph.D course work where ever applicable. The age limit for UR candidates for Assistant Professor Position is preferably below 35 years. Age relaxation is applicable for OBC, SC/ST & PwD candidates as per norms.

PAY STRUCTURE AS PER 7TH CPC: IIT Dhanbad Recruitment 2024
(a) ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
Grade-II : 7th CPC Pay Level 10, Minimum Basic Pay: ₹ 70900/-
The minimum starting basic pay to be fixed in Academic Pay Level-10 at Cell No.8 ₹ 70,900/-.
In such cases, on completion of one year of experience, the incumbent may move to Academic Pay Level-11 after completing the necessary requirements in this regard as per the norms of the Institute. Subsequent placement in Assistant Professor Grade-I will be based on internal performance assessment conducted after meeting experience requirements as per the norms of the Institute.
(b) ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
Grade-I : 7th CPC Pay Level 12, Minimum Basic Pay: ₹ 101500/-
For direct recruits, minimum starting basic pay to be fixed in Academic Pay Level-12 at Cell No.1 ₹ 1,01,500/-. On completion of 3 years as Assistant Professor Grade-I, the incumbent may move to Academic Pay Level-13A1 (₹ 1,31,400 – 2,04,700) on the basis of internal performance assessment as per the norms of the Institute.
(c) ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR :
7th CPC Pay Level 13A2, Minimum Basic Pay: ₹ 1,39,600/-
For direct recruits, minimum starting basic pay to be fixed in Academic Pay Level-13A2 at Cell No.1 ₹ 1,39,600/-.
(d) PROFESSOR :
7th CPC Pay Level 14A, Minimum Basic Pay: ₹ 1,59,100/- For direct recruits, minimum starting basic pay to be fixed in Academic Pay Level-14A at Cell No.1 ₹ 1,59,100/-.
