Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, also known as HNBGU, is a public university located in Srinagar town of Pauri Garhwal district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The university was established in 1973 and named after Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna, a freedom fighter and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

HNBGU offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs in disciplines such as arts, science, commerce, education, management, law, engineering and technology. The university also has a number of affiliated colleges located in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand.

The university is known for its scenic campus situated amidst the beautiful Himalayan mountains and for its focus on research and innovation. It has several research centers and institutes that carry out research in areas such as ecology, geology, biotechnology, remote sensing, nanotechnology, and more.

HNBGU has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an ‘A’ grade and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as a University with Potential for Excellence. The university has also received various awards and recognition for its contribution to the field of education and research.
