Dibrugarh University Ph.D Admission Notification 2022. Online Applications are invited from the intending eligible candidates for appearing in the Dibrugarh University Research Admission Test (DURAT), 2022 (Phase I, Written Test) scheduled on 11.12.2022 (10:30 a.m. to 01:30 p.m) for admission to the Ph.D. Programmes in the session 2022-2023 in the following subjects:

A.   Eligibility Criteria

A candidate intending to appear in the DURAT 2022 for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) shall have to obtain at least 55% marks in OR equivalent grade point in the Master’s Degree, in which he/ she intends to appear in the DURAT.

A relaxation upto 5% marks or an equivalent relaxation of grade in the qualifying degree is allowed for the candidates belonging to SC, ST and Differently-Abled category.

A candidate intending to appear in the DURAT 2022 for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) shall have to obtain at least 55% marks in OR equivalent grade point in the Master’s Degree, in which he/ she intends to appear in the DURAT.

B.    HOW TO SUBMIT ONLINE APPLICATIONS:

For submission of the Online Applications, the intending candidates are advised to follow the following procedure:

a. The candidate shall be required to register in the DURAT Portal given in the website- www.dibru.ac.in by entering Full Name, Password and a Mobile Number. The candidate will get an OTP in the Mobile Number which is to be entered for Activation.

b. After Activation, the candidates shall be required to login by entering his/ her Mobile Number and password. The candidate can then apply for appearing in the DURAT by selecting the desired subject.

c. The applicants shall be required to pay the Application Fee of Rs. 500/- only through the online payment gateway by using Debit (ATM) Card/Credit Card/ Internet Banking during the submission of the online Application Form. No other mode of payment is acceptable.

d. The applicants can save and review the information entered before submission, which can be edited on subsequent login. However, after submission, editing of information shall not be possible.

e. On successful submission of the Online Application Form with Payment of Application Fee, the Candidates will get a Fee Payment Receipt. The Candidates should take a print out of the Payment Receipt, Application Form and Admit Card to produce before the relevant departmental Office of the University whenever asked to do the same. The candidate must bring the printed copy of the Admit Card to the Examination Centre.

f. The Submission of Online Applications shall be automatically closed after the stipulated date and time.

g. Candidates are advised to visit the University website www.dibru.ac.in regularly for any relevant information.

C.    SELECTION PROCEDURE:

a. The DURAT shall comprise of two phases-

i. Phase I: Written Test (in a single paper for 100 marks) with 70% weightage.

ii. Phase II: Viva-Voce to be conducted by the Department/ Centre for Studies concerned with 30% weightage.

b. The List of the provisionally Selected Candidates shall be prepared by the Department/ Centre for Studies concerned combining the performances of the candidates in both Phase I and Phase II.

c. The admission of the selected candidates shall be done as per the information of the subsequent notifications. The requisite Admission Fee, Course Fee shall have to be paid within the stipulated date(s).

d. Statutory Reservation Policy shall be followed wherever applicable.

e. The selection of candidates for admission shall be purely provisional and confirmation of seat is subject to verification of original documents by the concerned offices.

D.    The DURAT, 2022

The DURAT, 2022 shall be conducted as per the Guidelines for Dibrugarh University Research Admission Test (DURAT) (amended up to date).

E.    IMPORTANT DATES

  1. Date of Notification                                             : 21.10.2022
  2. Online Application portal activates on                 : 01.11.2022
  3. Last date of submission of Online Application    : 30.11.2022 (till 5.00 p.m.)
  4. Date of the DURAT 2022 (Phase I, Written Test): 11.12.2022 (10:30 a.m. to 01:30 p.m)

Note:

  • The DURAT 2022 shall be conducted as per the Guidelines enclosed herewith as Annexure I.
  • DURAT is exempted for CSIR-NET (both LS and JRF), UGC-NET (both LS and JRF), SLET/SET (NE Region), GATE, GPAT, M.Phil (in regular mode and in the concerned subject), and Teacher Fellowship holder.

GUIDELINES FOR DIBRUGARH UNIVERSITY RESEARCH ADMISSION TEST (DURAT)

  1. The Dibrugarh University Research Admission Test (DURAT) shall be conducted by a Board, to be called DURAT Board assisted by the Office of the Controller of Examinations to be constituted every year by the Vice-Chancellor.
  2. DURAT would be conducted annually, generally in the month of July. The final schedule of the Test would be notified in advance by the Office of the Joint Registrar (Academic), Dibrugarh University.
  3. The Application procedure of the DURAT including the Schedule is prescribed in the Detailed Notification.
  4. DURAT shall be conducted to select eligible candidates for admission to the Ph.D. programmes of Dibrugarh University. The number of seats available in the Subject concerned shall be ascertained by the Departmental Research Committee concerned.
  5. A candidate intending to appear in the DURAT shall be required to obtain at least 55% marks OR equivalent grade point in the Master’s degree, in which he/ she intends to appear in the DURAT.
  6. Candidates belonging to the reserved categories of SC/ST and the Differently Abled Persons, shall have 5% relaxation in marks or an equivalent relaxation of grade in the qualifying degree.
  7. The DURAT shall comprise of two phases-
    • Phase I: Written Test (in a single paper for 100 marks) with 70% weightage.
    Phase II: Viva-Voce to be conducted by the Department/ Centre for Studies concerned with 30% weightage.
  8. The DURAT (Phase I) shall be conducted in a single paper of two parts- (a) 25% on Research Methodology/ Research Aptitude (Group A) and (b) 75% from Core Course Components of the subject concerned (Group B). The paper shall carry 100 marks and the duration of examination shall be of Three (3) hours.

The pattern of the Question Papers shall be as below-

i. Multiple Choice Objective Type = 10 Marks from Research Methodology/ Research Aptitude and 10 Marks from the Core Course Components of the subject concerned

There will be negative marking of 25% of allotted marks.

ii. Descriptive Type Questions= 15 Marks from Research Methodology/ Research Aptitude and 65 Marks from the Core Course Components of the subject concerned.

9. The DURAT Board shall recommend to the Vice Chancellor the panel of Paper-setters, Moderators, Tabulators and Examiners for approval.

10. Ranking of the DURAT Phase I (Written Test) shall be declared by the DURAT Board and the Department/ Centre for Studies concerned shall invite candidates on the basis of the ranking and availability of seats in the concerned subjects. Statutory Reservation Policy shall be followed wherever applicable.

11. The DURAT score shall be valid for the current academic session only.

12. Any matter not covered above shall be considered in compliance with the Dibrugarh University Examination Ordinance (amended up to date).
