Under the UGC’s Scheme for Trans- disciplinary Research for India’s Developing Economy [STRIDE] project on Mitigating Climate Change in collaboration with the Center for Climate Change Studies, the Central University of Tamil Nadu is organising this Climate Change Conference.

About CUTN

Established in 2009, the surge and success of the CUTN in Thiruvarur thus far has been both momentous and monumental, charting a success story for itself and setting a decisive growth animus for this institution of higher education.

Starting with just one programme and eight students, CUTN can now boast of phenomenal development with over 60 programmes and over 2000 students in such a short spell.

From the introduction of new programmes and curricular innovation to reach infrastructure development and faculty capacity building, the university has trained its focus in the right areas, and as a result, it has witnessed a huge rise in popularity across the nation drawing the best of minds from the far corners.

CUTN represents over 23 Indian states apart from foreign students.

Conference Note

‘Climate Change’ is considered to be one of the most important factors affecting the sustainable and equitable development around the world and particularly in India.

Climate Change is much newer discipline, the discussion, sensitization and research in Climate Change needs a significant importance to make the community aware of the negative implications.

The Conference aims at sensitizing participants to understand the causes and effects of Climate Change, mitigating it and policies and laws on climate change at the international and national parlance.

Further, the conference will make the participants to analyze the root cause and issues of climate change and equip them to identify a solution to mitigate it.


The Scheme for Trans-disciplinary Research for India’s Developing Economy (STRIDE) is one of the novel initiatives of UGC for carrying out Human Resource Development (HRD) and Research Capacity Building (RCB) initiative on the most important aspects for Global and Indian Economy.

The CUTN was selected to implement HRD and RCB Programs as one of the important aspects of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) i.e., “Climate Change. Under the STRIDE (Component-1) Project of UGC, the CUTN has undertaken several projects to disseminate knowledge and create awareness among the public particularly students, research scholars and faculty focusing on “Mitigating Climate Change”.

Only one manuscript per author will be considered.

Manuscripts have to reach on or before

11.59 pm on the 5th of July 2022. Manuscripts for presentation will be selected      through    Conference Committee.

Criteria for selection will be based on originality, method and relevance to the conference theme.

Selected Manuscripts for Presentation will be notified by 8th July, 2022

Font Style: Times New Roman

Font Size: 12 fonts for content/10 fonts for foot note

Line Spacing: 1.5 for content and 1 for foot notes

Alignment: Justified Justify Page Margin: 2.5 on all sides

Word Limit: 3500 to 4000 words including foot notes, references, tables and figures.

Participants/Paper presenters have to register by making full payment.

Registration fee payment particulars will be sent to selected participants/Paper presenters before 5th July 2022
