WALK-IN-INTERVIEW FOR THE JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW (JRF) POSITION

IN THE DST-SERB FUNDED PROJECT

Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) at a Fixed stipend/ Fellowship/ Salary amount of Rs. 31,000 + 9% HRA /- p. m. for first two years and Rs. 35,000+9% HRA / – p. m. for third year in a SERB ‘Empowerment and Equity Opportunities for Excellence in Science Sponsored Project entitled “Modelling and analysis of discrete and continuous-time reliability-queueing-inventory systems“. The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project.

Principal Investigator: Dr. Manikandan Rangaswamy, Department of Mathematics, Central University of Kerala, Kasaragod.

A. Essential qualifications:

i) Motivated candidates with M.Sc (Mathematics) with minimum 60% aggregate marks (50% for OBC/ST/SC) are eligible to apply. Age Limit: The upper age limit of the candidate should be below 28 years as on last date of application. Age relaxation will be given to the candidates as per Govt. of India rules.

ii) A valid GATE score/CSIR-UGC-NET.

iii) Should have sound knowledge of Applied Probability/Stochastic Process, good mathematical skill, Matlab/ Python Programming skill.

iv) Excellent oral, written and communication skills.

B. Desirable:

i) Expertise in R Programming.

ii) Basic knowledge on Reliability Systems and Stochastic Modelling.

C. Duration: Initial appointment is for one year, which is extendable up to three years solely based on the performance.

D. Job location: Department of Mathematics, Central University of Kerala, Kasaragod.

E. General terms and conditions:

• The position is temporary and renewable each year subject to satisfactory performance for a maximum of three (03) years or termination of the project whichever is earlier.

• Original documents of age proof/certificates/degrees/mark-sheets and other testimonials along with self-attested copies must be presented at the time of walk-in-interview. • The selection will be based on the performance on the interview, and academic credentials.

• Mere possession of minimum qualification does not guarantee selection.

⚫ No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

• The authority reserves the right of accepting/rejecting any or all applications without assigning any reason thereof.

• Only selected candidate will be communicated to join as JRF and no other communication in this regard will be entertained. The decision of the selection committee will be final. The selected candidate will have to join duty immediately on receipt of the offer. The selected candidate may be terminated with a 30-days’ notice before completion of tenure if performance till date is not deemed satisfactory.
