General Instructions

1. Candidates who have successfully completed their Master’s Degree Programme in compliance with the stipulated eligibility criteria as per the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedures for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2022 dated 07/11/2022, are eligible for online application for admission to Ph.D. Programme.

    In addition to aforementioned eligibility criteria, those candidates who have qualified for the UGC-NET, CSIR-UGC-NET and have NET score can apply for the Ph.D. Programme offered by this University. (As per UGC’s communication F.4-1(UGC-NET Review Committee)/2024(NET)/140648 dated 28-March-2024 and Public Notice of even number dated 27-March-2024)

    2. All candidates are required to register for their online application for admission to Ph.D. Programme on https://cugadm.samarth.edu.in/2024/ within the stipulated schedule.

    3. After successful submission of online application and payment thereon, the candidates should take a print-out of the application form generated through SAMARTH eGov. This print out along with all necessary supporting self- attested copies of the documents (Along with the Original documents) shall be required to be produced at the time of document verification.

    4. The Central University of Gujarat will not accept the application for admission to the Ph.D. Programme through any other mode.

    5. Candidates are advised to ensure fulfillment of the eligibility criteria (On the date of application) before filling in the online application form.

    6. Candidates are advised to ensure the availability of vacancy as per the Seat Matrix, as amended from time-to-time.

    7. Online Application Fee for Admission to Ph.D. Programme:

      Note: The online application for admission to Ph.D. Programme is non-refundable.

      8. Those candidates who are interested in applying for more than one Ph.D. Programme, separate online applications are required for each Ph.D. Programme. Please note that separate payment is required for each individual online application.

      9. Candidates must provide a valid e-mail ID, Mobile number, AADHAR number (optional) and upload readable soft copies of the required documents.

        10. Based on information and documents uploaded by the candidates, their eligibility will be verified. If any document is not found satisfactory during the verification process, then the candidature’s application shall stand cancelled.

        11. All candidates are hereby requested to visit the Central University of Gujarat website regularly for updates. All information will be updated on the University website https://cug.ac.in regularly. No separate communication will be made to individual applicants.

        12. The number of seats for the Ph.D. programme is subject to change. The Central University of Gujarat reserves the right to discontinue any academic programme at any stage without communication of any reason(s) thereof.

        13. The admission to Ph.D. Programme will be governed as per UGC’s communication F.4-1(UGC-NET Review Committee)/2024(NET)/140648 dated 28-March-2024 and Public Notice of even number dated 27-March-2024 and University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedures for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2022 dated 07/11/2022, as amended from time-to-time.

          14. It will be the sole responsibility of the candidate to ensure fulfillment of the minimum eligibility criteria and other conditions prescribed for admission to the Ph.D. programme. If it is found at any stage that the candidate is not
