Central Agricultural University Jobs 2024: Teaching and Non-teaching post

Applications are invited in the prescribed form for filling the posts of Professor and Associate Professor in the constituent colleges and the Multi- Technology Testing Centre/Vocational Training Centre of Central Agricultural University, Imphal. The application form can be downloaded from the University website, www.cau.ac.in.

The duly completed application form, along with relevant documents and the prescribed fee of Rs. 1,000/- (for UR/OBC candidates) or no fee (for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates), should reach the office of the Registrar, Central Agricultural University, Imphal, on or before 26th December 2024.

The fee should be paid online only.

Qualifications: Central Agricultural University Jobs 2024

Professor

Essential:

(a) For disciplines other than Veterinary Sciences:

i. Doctoral degree in relevant subject including relevant basic sciences

ii. 10 years experience in the relevant subject out of which 8 years should be as Scientist/Lecturer/Extension Specialist or in an equivalent position in the PB-3 of Rs. 15,600-39,100 with Grade Pay of Rs.5,400/Rs.6,000/ Rs.7,000/Rs.8,000/- and 2 years as Associate Professor/ Senior Scientist or in an equivalent position in the Pay Band-4 of Rs.37,400-67,000/- with Grade Pay of Rs. 8700/9000/-.

iii. The candidate should have made contribution to Research/Teaching/Extension Education as evidenced by a minimum of 10 publications with high NAAS Impact Factor and innovations/technologies published.

(b) For Veterinary Sciences disciplines:

i. Recognized veterinary qualification included in first and second schedule in Indian Veterinary Council Act: 1984 and must be registered with a State Veterinary Council/Veterinary Council of India.

ii. B.V.Sc. & A.H. with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade in the point scale.

iii. Master’s degrees in relevant discipline of Vety. Science with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade in the point scale.

iv. Other qualifications are similar with disciplines other than Veterinary Sciences as at (a) i, ii and iii.

Desirable:

i. Adequate experience of teaching and guiding Post-Graduate students.

ii. Familiarity with modern tools and applications in scientific technologies in the field.

Associate Professor

Essential:

(a) For disciplines other than Veterinary Sciences:

i. Doctoral degree in relevant subject including relevant basic sciences

ii. 8 years experience in the relevant subject as Scientist/Lecturer/Extension Specialist or in an equivalent position in the PB-3 of Rs. 15,600-39,100/- with Grade Pay of Rs.5,400/Rs.6,000/ Rs.7,000/Rs.8,000/-.

1. Documents related with the information provided in the application form should be produced at the time of interview. Period of Ph.D. research work will not be counted as experience for the minimum qualification.

2. Candidates already in service should submit their applications through proper channel. Candidates anticipating delay in sending through proper channel, advance copy may be submitted directly with required application fee. However, the candidate will have to produce No Objection Certificate at the time of interview, failing which such candidates will not be allowed to appear in the interview.

3. Applications, which are incomplete/ not on the prescribed form/ received after the due date/ received without the prescribed application fee shall not be considered. Separate application form and fee should be submitted for applying different posts and categories.

4. The University reserves the right to fill or not to fill up any post and also to increase or decrease the number of posts without assigning any reason thereon, and also reserves the right to withdraw the advertisement partially, or in full at any point of time by putting the notice on its website.

5. 4% of the posts are reserved for Physically Challenged candidates as per rules.

6. No interim correspondence shall be entertained.

7. Only shortlisted candidates based on their academic and career performance will be called for interview.

8. The age of superannuation for teachers in Central Agricultural University, Imphal is 65 years.

9. The application form is available in the University website: www.cau.ac.in. Application form should be submitted on-line by giving prescribed fees. Final printed application format along with relevant documents must be sent as hard copy to the university by registered/speed post addressed to the Registrar, Central Agricultural University, Lamphelpat, Imphal, Manipur-795004.

10. Applicants are advised to superscribe the words (in capital letters) “Application for the post of “at the top of the envelope containing the application form.

11. CAU Imphal is an Autonomous Body. The service conditions of the appointee shall be governed in accordance with the statutes and rules of the University as in force with amendments or as come into force from time to time, together read with the provisions of Government of India Rules.

12. The University will not be responsible for any postal delay. Applications received after expiry of the last date will not be considered and entertained at all.

13. Candidates are advised to visit the University website: www.cau.ac.in regularly for updates (Corrigendum or Addendum or cancellation to this advertisement).

14. Canvassing in any manner will lead to disqualification.

15. The University reserves the right to fix criteria for screening the applications so as to reduce the number of candidates to be called for the interview.

16. Call letters to attend the interview will be sent to shortlisted candidates by Email only. No correspondence will be made with the applicants who are not shortlisted / not called for the interview. Therefore, candidates are advised to check the University Website and their Email regularly.

17. The decision of the University in all matters relating to acceptance or rejection of an application, eligibility /suitability of the candidates, mode of selection, and criteria of selection, etc. will be final and binding on the candidates. No enquiry or correspondence will be entertained.

18. The following categories of persons shall not be eligible to apply for any position in the University:

(1) Who has been convicted by the Court of Law or any criminal proceedings are pending against him/her.

(ii) Who has entered into contracted marriage with a person having a spouse living.

(iii) Person who has a spouse living and has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person provided that the Competent Authority of the University is satisfied that such marriage is permissible under the personal law applicable to such person and the other party of the marriage and there are other grounds for doing so, exempt any person from the operation of these rules.

(iv) Who is not a citizen of India, and

(v) Any other category of person disqualified for appointment by the Government of India / UGC from time to time.

19. All appointments made shall be provisional and subject to verification of certificates through proper channels. The University shall verify the documents and antecedents of the applicant at the time of appointment or anytime during the tenure of the service. In case it is found at any point of time that any documents/information submitted by the candidate is false or the candidate has suppressed any relevant information, the services of the selected candidate shall be terminated forthwith without assigning any further reasons and without prejudice to such other action as may be taken under the provisions of Indian Panel Code for production of false information.

20. All the qualifications and experience will be counted up to the last date of applications. Any additional qualification and experience acquired after the closing date will not be taken into account at the time of screening/selection.

21. In case of any inadvertent mistake at the time of process of selection, which may be detected at any stage even after issuing the appointment letter or joining of the candidate, the University reserves the right to modify/withdraw/cancel any communication and appointment made thereof to the applicant.

22. In case of any dispute/ambiguity that may occur in the process of selection, the decision of the University shall be final.

23. A candidate belonging to any reserved category who desires to be considered for any unreserved post, besides the posts under reserved category, will have to submit separate application form(s) for unreserved posts.

24. The process of selection may be by a presentation/seminar/interview or a combination thereof.

25. Separate application form (along with application fee) should be filled for each post applied.

26. The appointee shall be covered under National Pension Scheme (NPS) introduced by the Government of India, or the Old Pension Scheme if earlier under this scheme as per DoPT/GOI Rules.

27. Candidates shall have to produce original documents at the time of appearing in interview.

28. Candidates are required to self assess in the application form as per the score card for the post applied.

29. Candidates are required to submit evidences for each of the information provided in the application form.

30. Candidate is liable to serve in any of the Colleges/ Directorates/ Units under the control of the University.

31. In case of selection of in-service candidates, their services shall be regulated in accordance with the statutory provisions of the university as in vogue or as come into force from time to time, in absence, the Govt. of India/UGC rules.

32. The jurisdiction for all disputes/legal matter for this recruitment will be confined to the Court of Manipur.
