The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made a significant change to the exam date for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) December 2024.
The exam, which was originally scheduled for 1st December 2024, will now be held on 15th December 2024.
This change has been made to avoid a clash with other competitive exams scheduled for 1st December 2024.
Important Dates:
- Start Date for Online Application: 17th September 2024
- Last Date for Online Application: 16th October 2024 (11:59 PM)
- Revised Exam Date: 15th December 2024 (Sunday)
(Note: Some exams may be conducted on 14th December 2024, depending on the cities.)
CTET December 2024: Application Process
The application process for CTET December 2024 is already underway and will close on 16th October 2024. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to apply:
Step-by-Step Application Process:
- Visit the Official Website: Go to ctet.nic.in.
- Click on ‘Apply Online’: On the homepage, click the “Apply Online” link.
- Register: Provide your details like name, contact number, and email ID to register.
- Fill in the Application Form: Complete the application form with required information.
- Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of your recent passport-sized photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
- Payment of Fees: Pay the application fee via online modes (credit/debit card, net banking).
- Submit & Print: After completing the payment, submit the form and take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.
CTET December 2024: Eligibility Criteria
For Primary Stage (Classes I to V):
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) or 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
For Upper Primary Stage (Classes VI to VIII):
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), or
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
CTET December 2024: Application Fees
- For Paper I or II:
- General/OBC (NCL): ₹1000
- SC/ST/Disabled Person: ₹500
- For Both Paper I & II:
- General/OBC (NCL): ₹1200
- SC/ST/Disabled Person: ₹600
Selection Process:
- The CTET exam is conducted in two papers:
- Paper I: For candidates aiming to teach Classes I to V.
- Paper II: For candidates aiming to teach Classes VI to VIII.
- Candidates wishing to teach both levels need to appear for both papers.
- A minimum of 60% marks is required to qualify the exam, with a relaxation of 5% for candidates from reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/Divyang).
Age Limit:
There is no age limit for the CTET 2024 exam, so candidates of any age can apply.
