Admission Notification for Ph.D. Programme of the Academic Session 2023-24

Applications are invited from eligible candidates (as per the existing guidelines of University Grants Commission’s Minimum Standards and Procedures for award of Ph.D. Degrees) for admission to Ph.D. Programme 2023-2024 for the subjects as given below in the prescribed format which is available in the following link. The selection procedure will adhere to Bankura University (Minimum Standards and Procedures for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2023. The applicants must fill up the Application Form through the link (Google Form) for admission to Ph.D. Programme 2023-2024 within 2nd May 2025 and submit the requisite application fees through NEFT (National Electronic Fund transfer) in the Bank Account as given below.

Applicants have to submit the filled in form along with scanned copy of Mark Sheets & Certificates of all examinations, Caste Certificate(whether applicable), Fellowship Award Letter (whether applicable) and the payment receipt/relevant evidence of requisite fees through the link within the above mentioned deadline. The uploaded documents will be in Jpg/Jpeg format.

    Admission to the Ph.D. programme shall be through Research Eligibility Test (RET) to be conducted by the University. The date and mode of RET shall be notified later.

    Admission to the Ph.D. Programme shall be made using the following methods:

    i. University may admit students who qualify for fellowship/scholarship in UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR/NET/GATE/CEED and similar National level tests based on an interview/ viva-voce. And/or

    i. University may admit students through a Research Eligibility Test conducted through the Doctoral Committee of the respective Departments. The Research Eligibility Test syllabus shall consist of 50% of Research Methodology, and 50% shall be subject specific.

    ii. Students who have secured 50% marks in the Entrance Test are eligible to be called for the interview/viva-voce.

    iii. A relaxation of 5% marks will be allowed in the Research Eligibility Test for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/differently abled category, and other categories of candidates as per decision of the appropriate authority from time to time.

    iv. Provided that for the selection of candidates based on the Research Eligibility Test conducted by the University, a weightage of 70% of the marks obtained in the Research Eligibility Test and 30% of the performance in the interview/viva-voce shall be given.

    V. Students who have qualified for UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR/NET/GATE/CEED and similar National level tests without fellowship/scholarship have to appear for the Research Eligibility Test.

    2. Once an application is received, it will be deemed that the candidate agrees to all terms & conditions, rules & regulations stipulated in the Regulations relating to Doctoral (Ph.D.) Degree. (Minimum Standards and Procedures for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2023. Ensure that you are filling genuine application form available at www.bankurauniv.ac.in.

    3. Please provide the updated one mobile no. (Calling and WhatsApp) and e-mail id (Gmail is preferred) to get updates related to the Ph.D. Programme.

    4. All the information should match exactly with the school admit cards, mark sheets, certificates, photo identity cards, caste/category certificates etc. and it is to be produced inoriginal at the time of verification.

    5. Duplicate applications are liable to be rejected.

    6. Confirmation of admission of a student in the Ph.D. Programme is subject to the verification of his/her original testimonials which will be initiated only after giving proper notice in due course and successfully completion of Ph.D. course work assigned by the respective departments. Admission is liable to be cancelled if any discrepancies found in any documentor information provided by the candidates during the process of admission at any time/ stage.
