QUALIFICATIONS(E.Q.= Essential Qualifications):

Professor:

E.Q.: For post Codes: 1,2,3,5,7,9,11,13,15, 16,18,19):

  • A recognized veterinary qualification included in the first and second schedule in Indian Veterinary Council Act; 1984 & must be registered with a State Veterinary Council/Veterinary Council of India.
  • B.V.Sc. & A.H. (Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry) with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade in the point scale.
  • Master degree in the concerned discipline with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade in a point scale. (iv). Ph.D. in concerned/relevant discipline and
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Teaching/Research/Extension in educational or research Institute of which at least 3 years should be as Associate Professor (Rs. 12000-18300) (pre-revised) or in an equivalent position excluding the period spent for doing Ph.D. degree.
  • Evidence of contribution to Teaching/Research/ Extension as supported by published work/innovations.

Associate Professor:

E.Q.: For post Codes: 4,6,10, 12,14,17,20):

  • A recognized veterinary qualification included in the first and second schedule in Indian Veterinary Council Act; 1984 & must be registered with a State Veterinary Council/Veterinary Council of India.
  • B.V.Sc. & A.H. (Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry) with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade in the point scale.
  • Master degree in the concerned discipline e with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade in a point scale. (iv). Ph.D. in the concerned*/ relevant discipline with consistently good academic record. *NB: For Associate Professor in Animal Genetics & Breeding: Ph.D. in the concerned/ relevant discipline/ Animal Biotechnology with consistently good academic record.
  • A minimum 8 years’ experience in relevant subject as Research Scientist/ Assistant Professor/Lecturer/Extension specialist or in equivalent position in the Pre-revised pay scale of Rs. 8000-13500 excluding period spent in obtaining Ph.D. degree.
  • Evidence of contribution to Teaching/Research/ Extension as evidenced by published work/innovations.

Assistant Professor:

E.Q.: For post Codes:8, 21,22):

(i). (1)Recognized veterinary qualifications included in the first and second schedule in Indian Veterinary Council Act; 1984 & must be registered with a State Veterinary Council/Veterinary Council of India. (2) B.V.Sc. & A.H. with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade in the point scale. (3) Master degree in the concerned discipline with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed with consistently good academic record (4) For the candidates having Master degree, NET shall remain compulsory along with one publication in NAAS rated refereed journal. For recruitment to the post of Assistant Professor and equivalent in the disciplines in which NET is conducted, essentiality of NET can be waived off for the candidates holding Ph.D. degree, provided it has been done with course work as prescribed by the UGC Regulations 2009,and the candidate has at least two full length publications having a NAAS rating not less than 4, on the last date of submission of application . Those candidates with Ph.D. degree without course work will not qualify for NET exemption.(As per ICAR order No.23(46)/2010-EQR(Edn.)Dated Dec.26, 2011),

(ii).Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Lecturer/Assistant Professor conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.

  • Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii), candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph. D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or the subsequent Regulations if notified by the UGC, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant

Professor or equivalent positions in Universities /Colleges /Institutions.

“Provided further, the award of degree to candidates registered for the M.Phil/Ph.D programme prior to July 11, 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances/Bylaws/Regulations of the Institutions awarding the degree and the Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:-

  1. Ph.D. degree of the candidate awarded in regular mode only;
  2. Evaluation of the Ph.D. thesis by at least two external examiners;
  3. Open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate had been conducted;
  4. Candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work out of which at least one must be in a refereed journal;
  5. Candidate has made at least two presentations in conferences/seminars, based on his/her Ph.D work.

(a) to (e) as above are to be certified by the Vice-Chancellor/Pro-Vice-Chancellor/Dean(Academic Affairs)/Dean(University instructions).”

  • NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

General Instructions to the Candidates

  1. The engagements on the posts are purely on contract basis for the current academic session 2022-23, which may be extended, if required.
  2. Eligibility of a candidate and satisfaction of any other criteria shall be considered as on date of walk-in-interview.
  3. In case of any dispute/ambiguity that may occur in the process of selection, the decision of the University shall be final.
  4. The University reserves the right to withdraw any advertised post(s) at any time without giving any reason or may increase or decrease the number of posts.
  5. Relaxation of 5% marks (from 55% to 50%) will be provided at the Master’s level in case of SC/ST/OBC/ differently- abled candidates for Teaching positions as per VCI/UGC Regulations and its subsequent amendments from time to time as per rules.
  6. The candidates should bring their original certificates/mark-sheets for verification at the time of walk-in-interview.
  7. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the Interview.
  8. The eligibility of the candidate shall be determined from the date of Walk-in-Interview
