The Department of Pathobiology, College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University is seeking highly-motivated MS/PhD candidates to work on a research project funded by the NIH/NIAID Centers of Excellence for Influenza Research and Surveillance
(CEIRS).
The project will investigate the short and long term immune responses of swine, as a model forhumans, following consecutive influenza infections and vaccinations.
The candidate will also study real-time antigenic evolution of influenza viruses in the presence or absence of homologous and/or heterologous immunity, and will have the opportunity to participate in other ongoing research projects.
The candidate must have a degree in veterinary medicine or biomedical sciences, a strong interest in basic and applied research, virology, immunology and infectious diseases, and is willing to work with swine and other animal models. International candidates must be fluent in English.
Preference will be given to candidates with previous research experience.
